Business Seminar 2005
Conclusion
While there are too many highlights to share in just one article, one final story
deserves telling. Students attended ABC's Good Morning America program as VIP guests.
When the show ended at 9 AM, they took pictures with the hosts and guests, and then
went upstairs for a short tour. Host Charlie Gibson was still at his studio desk,
and he invited the students to talk with him. Students spent about twenty minutes
with him, learning about his work, his life and his philosophy.
Someone rushed in with a breaking news story that they were going to put on the
air live. Gibson invited the students to stay, so they got to watch him and co-anchor
Kate Snow write the story and re-work their opening introductions and news stories
in just minutes. After watching it go on the air perfectly, the students were leaving
the studio when they again ran into Gibson, who gave them a personal tour of the
control room.
As one student said, "This trip was just one great visit after another, and each
one was educational and interesting. It has made me look at my education and what
I want to do with my life."
