Commencement 2005
Lexie Harrington
"When I finished Form 7 and began on Form 8, my high school education ended and
life education began. At this time, I realized that my education was mine, and whatever
I was to get out of it was up to me. I had always taken Delphi for granted and had
no idea that I would have to put effort into my education. When I did, however,
I found abilities I had never dreamed of, and I became a well-rounded and competent
student. My awareness and responsibility rose not just for myself, but for those
around me, and I realized how important education was in my life and in the lives
of others.
"The abilities I gained on Form 8 are those that will guide me through life."

"Delphi has given me an appreciation for subjects that had previously not interested
me. Subjects that I used to dislike, such as history and art, are now among my favorites.
The practical side of the program was also very valuable to me. I really appreciated
the Leadership course because it enabled me to take on responsibilities in many
areas around the school, and improved my ability to get things done."

"Delphi was a challenge. No one grows stronger in life without being challenged
constantly. I started as a little girl, who had no sense of direction or purpose,
and I have finished as a girl who knows exactly where she is heading. I know I will
continue to grow, and I still have much to accomplish.
"I became something that I never expected: a leader and an ethical, knowledgable
person who knows what integrity is.
"I have only reached Commencement, and 'commence' means to begin!"
