The Oregon Athletic Directors Association (OADA) has recognized Delphian Athletic Director Mitch Neuhauser with its Leadership Award.  Along with the personal thanks of his peers, Coach Neuhauser received the certificate shown here and a plaque commemorating his many years of service.

The OADA’s annual Scholarship Golf Tournament has been Delphian Athletic Director Neuhauser’s special contribution to the organization and to deserving high school graduates.

Along with his athletic director duties, Neuhauser coaches both the Delphian soccer and basketball programs.  In his tenure, he has had soccer teams in district playoffs for 25 of the past 26 years, coaching some 10 all-state players along the way.  Personally, he plays soccer, basketball, baseball, and volleyball, though his first love is golf.  In that vein, he served as head instructor at a local golf course for eight years.

Since Neuhauser founded the Oregon Athletic Directors Association golf tourney, it has raised some $50,000 in college scholarships.

Raising money via the OADA’s annual Scholarship Golf Tournament has been Neuhauser’s special contribution to the organization.  Since he founded the tourney and in running it for the past 20 years, some $50,000 in college scholarships has been raised.

The purposes of the Oregon Athletic Directors Association are:

1. To improve the educational aspects of athletics and their inclusion in the total educational program.
2. To foster a close working relationship with the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) and other related professional groups.
3. To improve understanding of athletics and establish close working relationships among the schools of the State of Oregon through the sharing of mutual problems and practices, and 
4. To promote high standards of achievement and ethics in athletics.
