Zoolights and Booker T. Washington
Hello my friends! What’s the latest and greatest you may ask? That would be Zoolights.
Zoolights is a trip that the Junior Varsity Choir takes every year to the Portland Zoo, which has been festively decorated for the holiday season. We go there to sing our choir songs and Christmas carols, and then we can walk around and look at the bright lights and all the animals. This year there is a baby elephant. I’m really looking forward to the trip.
Also, I’m reading a book called Up From Slavery, which is the autobiography of Booker Talifero Washington. Some people find it kind of boring, but I think it’s amazing! Booker T. Washington was such an extraordinary person. He was extremely intelligent, and he dedicated his life to helping many people in the South get a good education. It’s such a good book, and definitely worth your time to read.
