Airplanes and Algebra
Hello everyone!
My winter break has come and gone. It was fun and relaxing; I did a lot of painting and reading and visiting. We Delphian students got back on a Thursday for a short week to warm up our minds for all the glorious studying ahead! Then, inevitably, it was the weekend.
There's always something planned for us to do on Saturday nights, something fun and exciting. This time our student council had outdone itself; they rented a museum full of airplanes (Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum) just for us to have a scavenger hunt, a dance and really good food. I thought it was really neat, and I also like airplanes. That seems a little out of the blue, but I think anyone would agree that to fly would be quite an adventure. Since I don't have any hope that I'll be sprouting wings anytime soon, why not have the next best thing? Anyhow, it was definitely a unique experience.
I also have another little story about myself for you. It's a tale of my algebraic woes. I've never considered myself a mathematical genius, but math was not really a concern or trouble for me until I met algebra. I had a lot of trouble with learning all those algebraic rules, and I began to think that I wasn't very good at math. Now, I'm studying more algebra, but the funny thing is that although I worried quite a lot about how I would do on this new course, I am actually doing quite well. It gives me a purpose for all the things I learned previously and it's really fun and really easy! I'm really glad that I didn't give up on math.
Until next time,
Rachael
