Hello! My name is Sarah, and I am from Dallas, Texas. Home of the Cowboys. I LOVE playing volleyball and reading. I also really enjoy watching TV series and scary movies. I do tend to get very scared after the movie is over though. I am interested in opening a nationwide tutoring center for children of all ages. I think education is very important and every kid should have a chance to get a good education. The most important thing you need to know about me is that I love talking and laughing!
What makes Delphian different from other schools I've attended: I have been to many schools—public, private, montessori and a boarding school in Switzerland. Delphian is by far the best school I have ever attended. It isn’t like having a teacher tell you what to learn and hoping you learn it. I actually LEARN and can apply what I am learning. I have a teacher that makes sure of that. It is really great.
Why I chose to attend Delphian: I chose to attend Delphian because coming here helped me find the person I always knew I was. I have always known that I was a capable person, but I never proved it or showed anyone that I was. When I came to Delphian, so many staff members saw that I was capable and helped me bring that ability to the surface. I have done so much more at Delphian than just read textbooks. I have discovered myself!
My favorite things to do at Delphian: This may sound strange, but my favorite thing to do at Delphian is study! I love gaining new information! I feel so smart afterwards. Using the study method you learn here, I never feel like I can’t understand something, and it makes it very fun to study. I also love working at the activities on the weekend. Helping others have fun and gaining new leadership skills is great. It is awesome to feel a part of the group. I never thought I would ever say that!
What part of my life has changed the most since coming to Delphian: I would say my ethics level has changed a lot. I used to think that doing bad things was okay if nobody found out about it. I also didn’t think telling little lies was a big deal. Now I know the truth about doing these things and how they affect your life. Now I am able to take responsibility for the things that happen around me. It is a really great feeling.
What I like best about attending Delphian: There really isn’t just one thing that I like best about Delphian. I like everything about it! I actually learn something new no matter what I am doing. I know it sounds lame, but it is true.
Advice for someone thinking about boarding schools or about coming to Delphian: If you are thinking about going to boarding school, make sure to talk to as many people who are going there as you can. The more you communicate with people, the faster you will get into the group. You should also try joining different clubs to get to know new people in fun ways. If you are thinking about coming to Delphian, JUST DO IT! I promise you will not regret it. I think it is the best school in the entire world on all levels!
