Student Life

Students coming to Delphian should be prepared for a schedule brimming with activity from early in the morning through the evening hours. The first part of each weekday is devoted to academic study. Once academic classes finish, students move into afternoon activities including athletics, music and art, drama, video production and a host of other options to challenge and excite.

During free time, students can relax in their dorms, play ping-pong or pool in our student-run snack bar, or surf the internet using the school's wireless access. Some may choose to go to study hall, play a game of basketball in the gym with friends, or practice an instrument in the music or band rooms.

Weekends at Delphian are also filled with activities ranging from off-campus trips to Portland for shopping or a musical to an outdoor bonfire and a nighttime game of Capture the Flag. Additional off campus trips may include sporting events, ice-skating, movies, beach and camping trips, and snowboarding or skiing on Mt. Hood and Mt. Bachelor.

Delphian students play a pivotal role in the government of the student body. The Upper School and Middle School Student Councils plan, promote and implement all of the student activities for their schools.

Delphian is both a boarding and a day school with students who live at the school and are involved in all weekend activities (full-time boarders); with students who attend only during the regular school hours (day students); and with students who board during the week and go home on the weekends (five-day boarders). 

With most students boarding, however, Delphian's is a lively community all day, seven days a week.
