Parents

From the earliest stages of inquiry, we take the time to really get to know prospective families—whether a child comes for one summer or for their entire education. Through the close interaction and abundant communication that is a keynote of Delphian's educational program, every family becomes part of our family. Prospective families are sometimes surprised to learn that our parents of boarding students regularly tell us how the bonds with their children grew stronger and closer during their time at Delphian.  

Our local parents are invited to attend athletic events, performances, art exhibits, and monthly assemblies throughout the year. Information on these events can be found on our monthly Activities Calendar.

We invite all of our parents to attend our annual Parents' Weekend, held during the first weekend in June, when we celebrate that year's graduating class with our annual Awards and Commencement Ceremonies. Parents attending the weekend are invited to attend both the Upper School Play and the Upper School Prom, which in Delphian tradition is a family affair. Parents' Weekend is also a time for parents to meet with faculty to discuss their child's academic progress and to attend educational seminars on various aspects of the Delphian Program.

Whether they live locally or across the country, however, we encourage our parents' participation in as many school activities as is feasible for them. The families that comprise our community are all unique, and we are grateful to our parents for the opportunity to share in these special moments with their children.
