Affiliation and Accreditation
Delphian School is a member of the Oregon Federation of Independent Schools, an Accredited Member of the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS), The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS), the Western Boarding Schools Association (WBSA), and an accredited member school of the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC). Delphi Schools, Inc. is licensed to use Applied Scholastics™ educational services.
Delphian School is an independent nonprofit organization and does not receive funds from government, religious or other groups. Funds for operations and capital improvements are raised through tuition, fees and charitable contributions. Please see our FAQ page for more information about Delphian.
The Northwest Association of Independent Schools is a voluntary membership organization that promotes high educational quality for its schools through the establishment and advancement of comprehensive accreditation standards.
It administers the accreditation process for independent elementary and secondary schools in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Through this accreditation process, the Association assists schools with the process of school improvement
The Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC), a division of AdvancED, is the largest community of education professionals in the world, accrediting 32,000 schools and school systems—employing more than four million educators and enrolling more than 20 million students—across the United States and 70 other nations.
Applied Scholastics International is a non-profit, public benefit organization formed in 1972 by educators from colleges, universities, and both public and private schools.
The mission of Applied Scholastics is to provide effective education services and materials that help people learn how to learn and thereby work effectively to achieve their goals and realize their full potential.
Delphian School is licensed to use Applied Scholastics™ educational services.

The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS) is the public voice for college-preparatory boarding schools and the central resource for boarding school education. TABS serves roughly 300 boarding schools across the United States, Canada, and abroad. Serving as a bridge between schools and students, TABS actively supports the needs of boarding schools themselves, and provides information and insight to families about the benefits of a boarding school environment.
The Small Boarding Schools Association was founded in 1987 by a group who felt that small boarding schools needed their own gathering to address those issues unique to their type of school.
While the membership in the organization has grown since its founding, its central purpose remains essentially unchanged. SBSA continues to exist today to provide those who work in and with small boarding schools of various types an opportunity to share and to learn from one another.
Delphi Schools, Inc. (DSI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to revitalizing education through effective primary, elementary and secondary schools. DSI licenses curriculum to schools in the Delphi Schools Network. Through Heron Books™, all the Delphi schools are furnished with a standardized curriculum and a comprehensive curriculum training program that ensures consistency and effectiveness within the network.
The Delphi Schools network includes five Delphi Academies across the country. The Delphian School is the founding school of the Delphi Schools network.
Heron Books™ is a research and development team that publishes cutting edge K-12 educational materials. Heron Books materials are for schools, preschools, homeschools, teachers, tutors, parents, children and teens. Training centers and businesses use Heron Books materials as well.
Through Heron Books, all the Delphi schools are furnished with a standardized curriculum and a comprehensive curriculum training program that ensures consistency and effectiveness within the network.
