Delphian School

Families who are considering applying to Delphian are encouraged to do so regardless of concerns it may be beyond their financial means. The school works hard to make a Delphian education affordable by providing assistance through grants, loan programs, installment plans and merit-based scholarships.

In most cases, financial aid is not a loan nor is repayment required; it is awarded to families who have a demonstrated need for financial assistance.

In order to be considered for financial aid, families must apply online through Clarity. This process will include providing recent tax information as a means of verifying household income. Families considering financial aid who are concerned they may not qualify are still encouraged to apply. All financial aid applications are reviewed by Delphian’s financial aid committee and the final decision is made based on the family’s need, as well as the strength of the applicant.

Delphian uses two third-party companies to review and process financial aid applications - Clarity and Mission Enrollment. Families may receive emails directly from either of these companies, asking for additional information or forms to process their application. Families are asked to please reply to any request in a timely manner. When submitting an application, families should ensure that the language used in their responses is inclusive and professional, avoiding terms or phrases that may not be understood by individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Scholarships are awarded based upon the academic and leadership merits of the applicant. Due to the number of applicants, families are encouraged to apply early.  Details on the scholarship program and requirements for consideration can be obtained from the admissions office or financial aid office.

Delphian's financial aid committee uses national financial aid standards along with guidelines established by the school and Clarity. Clarity considers the income, assets, and expenses of the family when determining the level of need.

Delphian accepts students based on their own qualifications regardless of their family’s financial resources. Accordingly, financial considerations should not deter families from applying for admission to the school. The financial aid committee allocates need-based financial aid to as many qualified families as possible.

All financial aid applications are reviewed by the school’s financial aid committee after a decision on the student's admission has been finalized. The school will notify all applicants and their families of any financial aid decision at the same time we notify them of our admission decision.

Financial aid is evaluated newly each year, based on the submitted application.  Families should anticipate an annual tuition increase that is based on cost of living and inflation rates.

Delphian works with both Clarity and Your Tuition Solution.

Cash, checks or e-checks drawn on a US bank and in US dollars, and bank wires are the recommended methods of payment. Credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover) are accepted for payment of school fees. A convenience fee will be charged by the processing company when using a credit card.

International families are strongly encouraged to use Flywire (www.flywire.com/school/delphian). In most cases the family can make the payment in their own currency and receive a lower rate than from any bank.

A non-refundable fee of $100 per student is required for application to the school.

A tuition deposit ($1,500 for boarding; $750 for day) is required to secure a student’s place in the school. Upon request the deposit is repayable or transferable until 60 days prior to enrollment day, after which it will be forfeited.

It is required that all students whose home address is outside the United States sign up with the Exchange Student Worldwide Medical Insurance Plan for primary medical coverage. This cost is included in the standard tuition and fees.

The student meal fee provides for all meals which are appropriate to the student’s academic schedule and school activities.

Guests and family of enrolled students are welcome to join the student in the dining room. The visitor meal fee is $10.00 per person. Meals for special events are complimentary.

Students may enroll in the Lower School at four years old when meeting qualifications for kindergarten. Boarding Elementary and Middle School students are assigned a Personal Teacher who provides extra service, personal care and attention necessary for younger children outside of class. The Personal Teacher yearly fee is included in the standard tuition and fees.

Each boarding student needs personal spending money for weekly allowance, optional weekend excursions and special trips. Students will need a credit or debit card to be used for such expenses during the school year. The school has an ATM for the occasional times cash is needed. It is recommended students keep no more than $100 cash on hand.

Transportation for students between the school and the Portland airport, bus or train stations will be provided at no charge on scheduled enrollment and departure days, providing the student is scheduled to arrive or depart before 7pm. Daily bus service to and from McMinnville is available for day students Lower School and above.
