There is nothing quite like the buzzing energy pulsing backstage the moment before the curtains open and lights go up for a Delphian theater production.
Our theater department produces multiple annual productions involving students of all ages. Student participation includes performing, set design and production, choreography, music composition, assistant directing, costuming, hair and makeup and prop making—even playwriting.
The amount of practice, patience, hard work and group effort which goes into a theater production is the perfect stage for our students to build strong relationships with each other; discipline and perseverance in learning their parts; and the ability to communicate to large audiences.
Recent productions include the musicals Mamma Mia, Guys and Dolls, Anything Goes and Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma!; dramatic plays like Cyrano De Bergerac, Inherit the Wind, Romeo & Juliet and Agatha Christie's A Murder is Announced; and comedies such as Charlie's Aunt, Shakespeare's Twelfth Night and A Midsummer Night's Dream, and The Importance of Being Earnest.
